Miss Swansea 2023

This week, we were fortunate enough to meet and shoot on location with Catrin Harries and her mother who graciously provided transportation, costumes, makeup, backup, and last-minute alterations.

For several months, the shoot at Ogmore Castle in South Wales has been in the works. It all started with a social media meeting over a video call with Catrin. It was immediately clear why Catrin had won the Miss Swansea pageant title - her easygoing personality made working on location with her a breeze. Her wardrobe choice was impeccable, as she chose a stunning dress fit for a queen that complemented the castle setting.

Catrin recently won a prestigious pageant award and is accustomed to wearing beautiful gowns and dresses on stage. During our discussion about the recent photo shoot at Ogmore Castle, it became clear that Catrin desired some glamorous images that were separate from the glitz, sparkle, and high-profile world of pageantry.

Despite the school holidays and tourist traffic at the ruined castle in South Wales, Catrin remained undeterred and gave her all to the project. Despite some challenging moments due to overcast and blustery weather, Catrin and her small team were able to produce some great images in just a few hours. Special thanks go out to Brylee for her help with the diffusion boards and video cameras, as well as Catrin's mom for her assistance.
